What is a vision board?

A vision board is a creative and artistic way to visualize your goals and intentions. The collection of images and words are designed to serve as inspiration to your life direction.

How do I make a vision board?

There’s no right or wrong way to make a vision board. Make it your own! To help guide you, here are our tips:

  1. Set Your Goals: Take a moment to think of what you want for your “Future Self”. Use these sample questions to spark your thoughts.

    • What brings you joy, happiness, and peace?

    • What have you always wanted to do or have started but yet to complete?

    • Are you satisfied with your current vocation and/or location?

    • How can you elevate your finances?

    • What needs to be done to improve your relationships?

  2. Find Inspiration: Search and cut out images and words that align with your goals and interests from the magazines. If you come across an image or word that jumps out at you, cut it out and set aside. Cut out as many items as you like. If there’s a personal photo you’d like to include on your board, add it to the mix of cut-outs. Roughly spend an hour to complete your search (the intent is to complete your board).

  3. Design Your Layout: Dedicate 45 minutes for the placement of your images and words on your board. In case you aren’t ready to commit to gluing the pieces down, lay everything out on the board to your liking. Then snap a picture and use as reference for your layout. Start gluing. Don’t be afraid to overlap images and words. If you have extra cut-outs, save them for your next project.

  4. Display Your Masterpiece: Place your vision board in a location where you’ll see it everyday. You can even take your vision board on the go and save it as your phone or laptop screensaver.

  5. Create a Plan to Achieve Your Goals: Download our goal tracker and write out your goals. Set a targeted deadline and brainstorm action steps. As you reach a new milestone, shade-in the jar to track your progress.

Should my goals be realistic?

Ideally, your goals should be realistic. However, don’t limit your possibilities!
